On this page, we'll discuss how to maintain mosaic tiles so they stay beautiful and look new for longer. Regular maintenance is essential for preserving the quality of your tiles.
Glass mosaic and glazed ceramic tiles
Mosaic tiles should generally be maintained in the same way as regular tiles. Glass mosaic tiles and glazed ceramic tiles can be cleaned with standard cleaning products, such as an all-purpose cleaner or green soap.
Choose a product with a minimum pH of 7. A cleaner with a lower value can damage the joints, potentially causing leaks and damage.
Be careful with limescale removers. If you use them, don't let them soak in, but rinse them off immediately with plenty of water. If you do let the remover soak in, there's a good chance of irreparable damage. This damage isn't covered by the warranty.
Always use a non-abrasive sponge, chamois, or soft cloth. This prevents scratches on the mosaic. Never use scouring powder, wool, or similar products. Also be careful with microfiber cloths or polishing erasers. These often contain small abrasive particles that can scratch the surface.
Always dry the surface thoroughly. Standing water can cause permanent damage due to limescale in the water. Also ensure adequate ventilation in the room.
Unglazed mosaic tiles
Due to the rough, non-slip surface, we recommend cleaning these tiles only with cleaning vinegar diluted with water. This prevents the surface from becoming stained by soap residue left behind in the rough material.
