Mosaic tiles Measure space

freek§ langen

Measuring your space so you can order the right amount of tiles is the first step in our mosaic tile DIY guide. Accurately measuring the surface is important to ensure you order the correct number of tiles. Use the length and width of the surface to measure. For example: You want to cover the hallway floor with mosaic tiles. The floor is 4 meters long and 2 meters wide. Multiply 4 meters by 2 meters, which equals 8 square meters (or m²). Divide this 8 m² by the surface area of one box of tiles to determine how many tiles you need. However, do take into account cutting waste. The sheets often won't fit perfectly against the wall, for example, because small mosaics may protrude beyond the sheet. This means you'll need to cut or trim the sheet. This results in some waste, which is called cutting waste. Mosaic tile space measurement DIY guide Measuring the space Do it yourself or have it done?
