Mapei Mapesil AC - Linen Silicone Sealant

Solvent-free, anti-fungal silicone sealant with BioBlock® technology for sealing expansion joints with movements of up to 25%. Mapesil AC is a acetic-curing silicone sealant suitable for sealing glass, ceramic, and anodized aluminum. After applying Primer FD as an adhesion promoter, the sealant can also be applied to concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic, and rubber. This Mapei Mapesil AC is anti-fungal, waterproof, vapor-permeable, and chemical-resistant.

Mapei Mapesil AC - Linen Silicone Sealant is used for:

  • Sealing expansion joints subject to movements of ± 25% compared to the original size.
  • Creating a perfectly elastic seal between different elements in construction, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, automotive industry, manufacturing, etc.
  • Sealing between sink or sanitary ware and ceramic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and shower areas in a colour that matches the colour of the grout.
  • Sealing expansion joints in swimming pools

Important

  • Do not use Mapei Mapesil AC for grouting ceramic tiles and light-colored natural stone exteriors, as dirt may accumulate at the joints. If necessary, contact the MAPEI Technical Department for advice on the most suitable preparation method.
  • To seal surfaces sensitive to acids, such as limestone, use a neutral silicone sealant (e.g. Mapesil LM).
  • Mapei Mapesil AC is not recommended for use on highly plasticized materials or bituminous surfaces. These may release substances that adversely affect adhesion and penetrate the sealant, affecting its color and durability.
  • Mapesil AC's resistance to chemicals is generally excellent. However, due to the wide range of products and working conditions for which Mapesil AC can be used, it is always advisable to perform a test if in doubt.
  • Do not use Mapesil AC to seal aquariums.
  • Use a polyurethane sealant (e.g. Mapeflex PU 45 FT) or an epoxy-polyurethane sealant (e.g. Mapeflex E-PU 21 SL) to seal floor joints that are subject to heavy loads.
