Every year, new tile trends and developments emerge in our country from other parts of the world. For example, we see Moroccan tiles giving our bathrooms a Mediterranean look. But what other tile trends and developments will we see this year?
Special tiles
Our tiles are almost always evolving. What we're seeing more of lately, and expect to see more of in 2018, are tiles in all colors and sizes. Larger sizes, in particular, are becoming increasingly popular. These can be used both indoors and outdoors, with kitchens and hallways being particularly popular indoor locations.
Tiles with custom prints are also becoming popular these days. This is because they can fulfill virtually any request. Looking for a special pattern that's usually not available or even possible to create? Nowadays, it can be printed with a 3D printer.
Larger tiles
We already consider tiles measuring 60 by 60 centimeters to be large tiles. However, in the coming years, we'll see increasingly larger tiles. For example, we're already seeing tiles of 120 by 60 or 100 by 100. A large tile creates a more spacious feel in a home, and a larger one creates a more luxurious atmosphere. A disadvantage of larger tiles is that they won't fit perfectly in rooms, resulting in more cutting waste.
Colored tiles in the sanitary facilities
One of the most important developments in sanitary ware is the growing popularity of mosaic tiles for use in bathrooms and toilets. While sleek, modern colors like white, gray, and black are very popular, colored tiles are becoming increasingly popular. While traditional, modern colors will always remain popular, colored tiles are increasingly outpacing the classics.
For example, we've already seen small hexagon tiles in bright colors that give the bathroom a very fresh and summery look. It's reminiscent of a Portuguese home bathed in sunshine.
